Falmouth University

On the dawn of a new term for you all, I would like to thank you all for sending me your finished sequences. All the work produced shows great promise and that you all understood the under laying tone of my lecture.

The challenge for us all is to build on our achievements each day – HOW? By just doing it without regard to what is right or wrong. Others can judge and do.

In this creative game, time is our only enemy.

Writer and Producer D.V. DeVincentis looks nervously around as we take a section of the main title model into our studio – NOW all I need to do is screw in the lights bulbs and get shooting.

Look Again

Blueprint magazine recently asked me along with other designers, artists and architects to redesign the British roadsign. This was my direction:

‘Look Again – yes, but there is no need to change them. These symbols or pictographs depict qualities generally associated with the object within the circle or triangle. They are more easily recognised internationally because some prior association already exists in our visual thinking.

What I see is that they are child-like in their design. There is a good reason for that: what we see is in the visual has been born in the need to have a universal visual language understood across all borders, as you see from the plates supplied.

A new, satisfactory sign or signs will require the combined efforts of public and private organisations, industrialists, business, scientists and designers will have to pool their skills to make sure that the symbols of tomorrow properly fit the societies and public needs as a whole.’

“I wanted to say a massive thank you to you and your team. The website looks excellent – smart, slick, professional, pleasing to the eye, creative – it is everything and more than I thought it would be. I know we were not the easiest of clients to work with (I have worked with consultants for the past 20 years!) – so thank you for your patience, professionalism and for going the extra mile – it was much appreciated.”
