Day of the Flowers Title Sequence

With great excitement, here is our main title sequence we created for producer and dear friend Jonathan Rae’s new film Day of the Flowers.

A great film to work on, our design came from influences of cuban style decorating of the time as a backdrop. Combined together with super 8 filming and the use of Cuban graphic poster art typography. Mixing the history footage with the live action entry shots of the film worked very well to set the tone. To book-end the style, we incorporating the design into the end roller.

Now out on DVD and online to rent, the film tells the story of two Scottish sisters, one a left-wing activist, the other a popular party girl who travel to Cuba to scatter their late father’s ashes. In losing and trying to reclaim their father’s ashes, the bickering sisters set off on a journey that them takes them through romance, danger, and the discovery of old family secrets.

Directed by John Roberts (War of the Buttons), the film stars Eva Birthistle (Noble and Waking the Dead), Charity Wakefield (The Raven and Serena) and Carlos Acosta (New York, I Love You).

We hope you enjoy.
